RCS formed, RECCAA Club opened

In 1994, in the General Body of Cochin RECCAA Centre and RECCAA Cochin, a proposal for a club was presented by RECCAA Centre and accepted by everyone. RECCAA Charitable Society (RCS) was thus formed for this purpose. About 3 acres of land was earmarked in RECCAA Valley for building the Club.

The RCS was registered as a charitable society in 2007. The Cochin RECCAA Centre, the RECCAA Housing Society have been merged into the RCS. A small Club was functioning at RECCAA Valley under stewardship of Dr. Babu T Jose and Sri Damodaran Namboothiri. This was also merged with RCS.

Objective of building a club was to provide a space for alumni and like minded individuals to interact and network. A long-term goal is to utilise the experience and expertise of REC/NIT Calicut alumni for the greater good of society.

Building a Club was an audacious initiative. Until then, no other college alumnus had undertaken such a massive project. Obstacles were many, financial commitment were huge, success was never assured. But founding members of RECCAA Cochin were always resilient and resourceful when needed. Determination and single-minded focus helped making this dream a reality. Club slowly started taking shape.

RECCAA Club opted for an open design and architecture. Large open spaces, unobstructed view of natural surroundings provide a visual treat for the guests. Elements of nature, whether its calmness at night, gentle breeze in the afternoon or drizzle in Monsoon, can be experienced throughout the club.

Great care is taken to ensure amenities are of highest standard. A magnificent structure with large parking area, spacious conference hall, beautiful board rooms, luxury rooms with utmost comfort, swimming pools with crystal clear water, extensive lawns, two well maintained badminton courts, a volley ball court, excellent card rooms, cosy home theatre, a health club, delicious food coming from a most modern kitchen served in a vast dining hall and a very attractive permit room – amenities , only few clubs in South India can boast of.

Club is not just buildings but a union of like-minded people, providing a platform for socializing and networking. Keeping this in mind, club has opened its membership to public also, with strict qualifications. Response was tremendous!
